So, you can press the little grey button at the end of the field (navigate button) and navigate (once again) to ".\ASTRONEER\Engine\Binaries\ThirdParty\Steamworks\Steamv139\Win64\". Namely, the field labled "Game Folder" is by default going to match the same path as the field above it "Game Exe", this isn't going to work for us however, because that folder doesn't point to where the steam_api64.dll file resides. With that done, we're now ready to setup Astroneer for SSE.Īt this point, your dialog box should be mostly filled in already, but there are a few alterations we need to make. Doing so should produce a dialog with some fields that need filled in.īefore we fill in these fields however, we need to replace the original steam_api64.dll that we stashed away, over-writing the cracked version, because SSE needs the original file in order to work. An easy way to setup the game for use with SSE is to open the folder where you have Astroneer installed, and navigate to ".\ASTRONEER\Astro\Binaries\Win64\" and drag and drop the "Astro-Win64-Shipping.exe" file into the SSE Launcher window. Now you should have an empty Launcher window. You simply extract the archive to wherever you'd like, and run the SSELauncher.exe At the time of this writing, SSE doesn't have an installer. Now we need to use SmartSteamEMU (SSE for short). At this point, the game should be playable, but multiplayer may not work for you yet.

This is as simple as once again opening your file browser, navigating to the virtual drive where the iso image is mounted, open the CODEX folder, and then copy the "Astro" and "Engine" folders to your "ASTRONEER" folder where you installed the game, replacingĪny and all files when prompted. Now that you have a backup of this file, you can safely apply the CODEX crack. Make a copy of this original file, and place it somewhere safe, as you will need it later. We need the original un-altered steam_api64.dll file which is located under ".\ASTRONEER\Engine\Binaries\ThirdParty\Steamworks\Steamv139\Win64\" Once the game is installed, you'll need to open your file browser to where you installed the game. There is the option to allow the installer to automatically crack the game for you, but for the purposes of getting multiplayer to work, I suggest that you do NOT do this yet. Run the setup.exe file found in the root folder of the virtual drive. The First step is of course to extract the ISO image from the Archive, and then Mount it using whatever your preferred virtual drive software is (I like using Daemon Tools Lite). As well as SmartSteamEMU which you can download from my google drive HERE. RAW Paste Data Instructions on how to get Multiplayer working with Astroneer (v1.0.6+)
